Why are Toyota and Lexus so reliable?

Perhaps the most important factor behind the reliability of Toyota and Lexus cars is the management and manufacturing process and ethos. The “Toyota Production System” – originally called “just-in-time production” focuses on designing out overburdern, inconsistency and eliminating waste.

The more reasonable explanation is that since Lexus vehicles favor comfort, they have a lot of additional features absent in Toyota vehicles. In a J.D. Thirty years on, it is obvious the experiment was a success.
