Nature/type: Frictional force is a contact force ie it can act only when two bodies are in contact. Magnetic force is a non contact force and can act even when two bodies are not in contact. Effect on bodies: Frictional force opposes the relative motion between two bodies. Magnetic force attracts or reppels two bodies.
