MIT is a world-renowned institute of higher learning that is known for its rigorous curriculum, excellent research, and outstanding faculty. When you’re hunting for a job, any employer that sees that MIT diploma is going to be impressed before you even open your mouth.

MIT students are very social and will usually have their doors open while their studying so friends can pop their heads in and chat. We have student run group (LSC – Lecture Series Committee) that brings recent movies (two per weekend usually) and sneak peeks of up coming movies to MIT plus a lot of guest lectures.

To ensure everyone’s health and safety, we will hold all interviews virtually for the 2021–2022 application. Interviews are not a required part of the MIT application. While we try to offer as many interviews as we can, we have limited availability and may not able to offer interviews to all applicants.

Avoid vague answers such as “MIT is known for its excellent STEM programs” or “the Sloan School of Management is among the best in the nation” — these types of answers do not answer the prompt nor do they highlight your interest in the school.

What is MIT’s admission rate for the class of 2025?

MIT’s admission rate for the class of 2025 comes in at 6.7\%, putting MIT at the same level as many Ivy League schools. Keep in mind that MIT does not use the Common Application, and instead uses its own system called MyMIT.

How much does it cost to apply to MIT?

After you submit the application, you’ll be prompted to pay the $75 MIT application fee. You’ll need to send your official high school transcript to MIT. Also, for the 2021-2022 admissions cycle, SAT/ACT scores are optional for MIT applicants.

How do I get Letters of recommendation for MIT?

You’ll need two letters of recommendation for MIT, one from a math/science teacher and one from a humanities/language teacher. In your MIT Application account, you’ll fill out each of your recommender’s names and email addresses so the form can be sent to them. Your recommendations are due the same day as the rest of your application.
