Is it correct to say yesterday morning?

We don’t say “last morning”. Instead we say “yesterday morning”. Similarly we say “yesterday afternoon”. Perhaps the reason for this is that “last morning” could refer to the morning of today, if you use it in the afternoon.

All of that being said, “last night” sounds better and takes less time to type and write. The only reason I can see for saying it is to bug your friends which, in my opinion, isn’t good enough. In and of itself, day encompasses the whole day.
