How much tamping does a cube have?

The cube mould should be clean and lightly oiled. It should be filled in 50 mm layers and compacted, with a steel tamping bar, with a minimum of 25 or 35 tamps per layer for a 100 or 150 mm mould respectively.

  • Finish the top surface by thapi /trowel after compaction of the last layer.

In total, 6 cubes measuring 150 x 150 x 150 mm should be cast. 3 cubes for 7 days testing, while 3 cubes for 28 days testing should be used. The concrete sample for test specimen should be taken at the mixer. However, the sample should be taken from the transportation vehicle while during the time of the discharge.
