How loud are Brood X cicadas?

They are loudest insects on earth. The song of a male cicada runs at about 100 decibels. That’s about as loud as a lawnmower or only slightly less loud than a live rock concert. Not bad for an insect that’s only an inch long with a four-inch wingspan.
