Can you relocate wasp nest?

Take a plastic or paper container with a lid and fit the container over the nest. Use the lid or a stiff piece of cardboard and slide it between the cup and the spot where the nest is attached, severing the connection. The nest should drop into the container. Put the lid on and move the nest away from your home.

Can you relocate wasp?

If the nest is larger then relocation is impossible. If it is in the ground, in a wall, in anything, soffits, siding, anywhere that isn’t a small easily accessible nest is something you cant just relocate. You will need to either kill it yourself or call a professional.

What to do if wasps start building a nest?

Approach the nest in the evening hours once you’re sure all the wasps inside it are dead. Use a garbage bag to cover the nest. Gently pull the nest from the tree or wall it’s attached to, and seal the bag around it. Throw the garbage bag and the nest away in an outdoor trash can with a tight-fitting lid.

Nests that are in the ground can be flooded with water. It is not likely to kill all the wasps and the ones that get away will come after you. It can be done using a long garden hose which will keep you at a safe distance.

Personally I would simply remove the nest at night using a long pole or stick and then remove any rebuilt nest till the wasps gave up on that location. The adults do not need the nest as a home but rather use it for raising young. If the nest keeps being removed/destroyed they will seek out and use a better location naturally.

However, you should be wary of the various methods you may be encouraged to use. One of them is undoubtedly fire. Never attempt to get rid of a wasp nest by lighting a fire near or directly on the nest. Wasps are aggressive creatures and this method is very dangerous.
