Can an employer terminate a union contract?

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) this month made it easier for employers to stop bargaining for future labor contracts when they have evidence that a union no longer has workers’ support. Then it can officially withdraw when the contract ends.

Can an employer change a signed contract?

A contract of employment is a legal agreement between the employer and the employee. The National Labor Relations Act empowers members of a labor union to dissolve the union by means of a majority vote. Members of a labor union may vote to dissolve a particular union at any time. The record of the dissolution must be sent in writing to the National Labor Relations Board.

NLRB, 473 U.S. 95 (1985), the United States Supreme Court held that union members have the right to resign their union membership at any time. Of course, the decision to resign is wholly yours. You can resign by simply sending your union a written letter stating that you are resigning effective immediately.
