Can a police officer make an arrest without a warrant?

Any law enforcement officer such as a police officer, sheriff, deputy sheriff, or state trooper can make an arrest. The arrest may be made with or without a warrant, depending on the circumstances. A warrant is an order issued by a judge de-scribing the person to be arrested and the charge (s) against that person.
