Would a Jedi be able to stop a bullet?

Originally Answered: Can a lightsaber block a bullet? Actually, no. It will melt the bullet whenever it passes through the superheated beam of energy that is the lightsabers’ blade, and it will turn into molten slag. That’s why many Jedi killers used “slug throwers”, or a conventional ballistic weapon we see today.

Would guns be effective in Star Wars?

Short answer: they would probably be about the same effectiveness as a blaster. Now we know Jedi can deflect blaster bolts with a lightsaber.

Could a lightsaber stop a bullet?

In current canon, lightsabers are capable of blocking bullets and partly melting/disintegrating them but not deflecting them.

Will a lightsaber ever be possible?

Disney/Lucasfilm Exciting news for all you “Star Wars” fans out there — it’s possible to construct a lightsaber, according to a physics professor from UC Berkeley. These tiny accelerators could be made to fit into the handle of a lightsaber, Muller said.

How fast are Blasters Star Wars?

The average for these things is just 34.9 m/s (78 mph). This is in the ballpark of a baseball pitch. Compare this to the speed of a Nerf gun bullet at about 10 m/s.

Why is there no bullets in Star Wars?

The Sith didn’t use bullets because they themselves used lightsabers. They were stuck in the same dogma as Jedi, taking it as a given that only a lightsaber can defeat another lightsaber. They thought they were completely safe from “primitive slugthrowers”, as apparently many Quorans also think.

Is it possible to kill a Jedi with a slug gun?

@AndrewMattson : Yes, of course. But even jedi can be overwhelmed by blaster bolts if there is a lot of them. Slugs are faster and have a much higher rate of fire (compare a real-world MAC10 to the handheld star wars blasters), so it should be easier to overwhelm a jedi with them.

Can a Jedi throw a shotgun at you?

A blaster’s shots may be deflected by a Jedi but a shotgun is a close range weapon. At that range, a Jedi might be able to force push you off your feet, or pull the shotgun from your hands. At that range, a Sith can unleash force lightning or choke you off the ground. Both will also be in range for a saber throw.

How many shots does a lightsaber self-destruct?

The weapon could fire at least five shots before the lightsaber being used as fuel melted beyond usage, at which point the empty rifle began to smoke. It can also be activated to self-destruct with enough force to break open a large hole in the Jedi Temple wall.

Can a normal shotgun be used in Star Wars?

No one in Star Wars (SW) uses normal guns. And some kind of laser shotguns doesn’t even seem to exist. And even if they existed they would be useless against a Jedi or a Sith. Shotgun may have quite a wide range but they are effective only on short distances.
