Will infantry ever be obsolete?

Likely never. Artillery and armor and aviation and whatever can destroy huge areas but only the infantry can go in there and see what is going on. Infantry might not be head to head against a force, but they sure will be used to secure an area.

Will there always be a need for infantry?

Yes, there will always be a need for infantry. Without getting into the extreme details of tactics, armor and infantry have a symbiotic relationship. They each support the other, but only infantry is flexible enough to truly take and hold ground.

Why is infantry still relevant?
