Why zero friction is not possible?
We can reduce the friction but we can never reduce it to zero because every surface will still have minor in them. A frictionless surface is not possible is not possible because the surface cannot have a zero friction surface. Due to friction force a body stops.
Does zero friction exist?
No, exactly zero friction isn’t possible practically. But we can get very close to it by using having very flat and even surfaces, ball bearings, lubricants etc. Having zero friction means that there is no interaction between the two surfaces in contact, but there is no way we can avoid such interaction completely.
What happens when friction is zero?
If there is no friction then we can’t push or pull. If there is no friction then we cannot generate energy (heat energy, Thermal, Hydro, solar, wind, all these energy) etc. If there is no friction then we cannot turn pages of books.
What if there is no friction on earth?
Explanation: Friction stops things from sliding apart. If there was no friction everything would slide to the lowest point. It would be impossible to climb up anything.
What if friction is not in the world?
It opposes motion, meaning if something is sliding on the floor, friction is the force that makes it eventually come to a stop. In a world without friction, the object would continue to slide forever, if not acted on by another force.
Is there friction on ice?
Although ice is very slippery, there will be a frictional force between it and the puck, which acts against the forward motion – meaning you must account for it.
Can you move without friction?
Motion is indeed possible without friction! These also don’t require friction. Newton’s first law states that objects with no external forces on them will continue to move in the same direction at the same speed. Objects at rest with no forces on them remain at rest.
