Why should there be age restrictions for movies?

Why do some movies have age restrictions? Age restrictions for movies exist to prevent children from viewing potentially harmful content. While parents do have the freedom to choose what their kids do and don’t watch, many are still very aware of the influence inappropriate content can have and its lasting effects.

In conclusion, I think that age restrictions are pointless and should be removed. But at the moment it is illegal to release a movie without an age rating. In most movies there are children, Even if the movie is an 18, I am sure that after they completed the movie, The children are allowed to watch it. But why can’t other children watch it?

Are movie ratings too lenient?

Studies show government and industry movie ratings have become more lenient over time and allow more violent and sexually explicit content into films. What these ratings mean and whether they actually can tell you what’s appropriate for your child, isn’t always clear.
