Why is it important to think critically and act with agility in all aspects of your life?

By practicing critical thinking, we are allowing ourselves not only to solve problems, but also come up with new and creative ideas to do so. Critical thinking allows us to analyze these ideas and adjust them accordingly.

Hello Professor and Class, I do agree that wisdom/critical thinking is a better predictor of a well-being than intelligence. Strong critical thinking— making well-reasoned judgments about what to believe and what to do—is essential to consistently successful decision making (Facione, 2016, p. 6).

Why is thinking skills important?

We use critical thinking skills every day. They help us to make good decisions, understand the consequences of our actions and solve problems. It utilizes other important life skills like making connections, perspective taking and communicating. Basically, critical thinking helps us make good, sound decisions.

Can we improve intelligence?

Although science is on the fence about whether you can raise your IQ or not, research does seem to suggest that it’s possible to raise your intelligence through certain brain-training activities. Training your memory, executive control, and visuospatial reasoning can help to boost your intelligence levels.

How do you deal with people who are not intelligent?

Give the person some time. It may take some people a little longer to settle into a new environment, especially if they feel that everyone around them is smarter. If you are dealing with less intelligent people at school or work, go easy on them and give them a little extra time to get comfortable.

One of the main disadvantages of being highly intelligent is feeling unfulfilled all the time. Having a high intellect does not mean that one would be living a fulfilling life.
