Why is fuel flowing out of carb overflow?

If gas is pouring out of the carb overflow, then the most likely culprit is the float valve is either stuck open or has some debris preventing it from closing. Your carb will have a float in the bowl that rises with the level of gas in the float bowl.

What does float in carburetor do?

A float chamber is a device for automatically regulating the supply of a liquid to a system. It is most typically found in the carburettor of an internal combustion engine, where it automatically meters the fuel supply to the engine.

Why is gas coming out of my carburetor?

If the gas is leaking out of the end of the carburetor then the problem is a bad needle valve or seat in the carburetor. With the fuel these days they tend to wear out quickly. To replace it the bowl needs to be removed off of the carburetor.

Why is gas leaking from carburetor?

Another cause of a gas leak is a sticking float inside the carburetor bowl. This forces gas out of the sides of the bowl. If gasoline is dripping in the throat of the carburetor, the problem is most likely a ball check valve inside the carburetor body.
