Why does neutral foundation look yellow?

If you’ve picked the wrong undertone: If you are COOL and pick a WARM or NEUTRAL foundation, it will look yellow on you. If you are WARM and pick a COOL foundation, it will make your skin look pale and icy.

Why does neutral foundation look orange on me?

Neutral is a mixture (or neither!) of the two.

Usually golden means yellow but how the company defines “golden” is up to them, really. Sometimes golden can refer to yellow toned skin with a little bit of pink AKA warm yellow making a sort of peach (for lighter skin) or honey (for darker skins which can look orange due to the added pink/red)
