Why do people want to buy organic?

Most Americans believe organic produce is better for one’s health than conventionally grown produce. Organic farming typically eliminates the use of conventional pesticides and fertilizers and, as a result, organic fruits, vegetables and grains have substantially lower levels of pesticides.

Why do you think some products are organic and some non organic?

Organic foods typically contain the same amount of nutrients, vitamins and minerals as non-organic foods. Typically, foods that are organic contain fewer pesticides, fewer multi-drug resistant bacteria and no genetically modified organisms or foods.

Do you really need to buy organic?

In some cases, yes. It may lower your exposure to chemicals and artificial ingredients. In others, it may not be healthier than buying conventionally grown products. Some basic information can help you make the smartest choices for your budget and the health of your family.

What do people think about organic farming?

What’s good: Organic farms provide higher biodiversity, hosting more bees, birds and butterflies. They also have higher soil and water quality and emit fewer greenhouse gases. What’s not-so-good: Organic farming typically yields less product – about 19-25\% less.

Is organic better than non organic?

Organic foods may contain more nutrients. Studies comparing the nutrient content of organic and non-organic foods have had mixed results. This is most likely due to natural variation in food handling and production. However, evidence does suggest that foods grown organically may be more nutritious.

Is organic more ethical?

Farmers, conventional and organic alike, have been shown to be concerned with the environmental effects of their farming and to have an emotional connection with nature, however one study found that on average organic farmers adopted 75.5\% of applicable environmentally friendly methods (called conservation practices).
