Why didnt Anakin use the force against Obi-Wan?

Obi-Wan’s strength is in his skill with a lightsaber. His experience with his defensive style (Form III) on top of his ability to keep a cool head basically made him unbreakable in a duel, assuming a superior power level in the Force isn’t being used against him.

Why does Obi-Wan let Anakin burn?

Obi assumed Anakin’s wounds would be fatal. He chopped off his legs and an arm, leaving Anakin to burn. Obi had NO reason to believe that Anakin would escape a long, torturous death. He wanted Anakin to suffer.
