Why did they take down the Rocky statue?

They didn’t consider it art. To them it was just movie prop junk. Since the Museum of Art would not allow the statue to remain permanently on its steps, the City of Philadelphia decided to move it to the other side of town and placed it outside the Spectrum sports arena where the Rocky fought Apollo Creed in Rocky 1.
