Why did Jabong failed?

The shutdown of Jabong was evident in June last year when Flipkart had cut down the marketing spend and redirected its users to Myntra with attractive incentives. The acquisition also backfired as Flipkart faced non-cash impairment of $290 million for its investment in Jabong in November last year.

What happened Jabong Quora?

The company, which was valued at nearly $1bn only a couple of years back, has lost over 90\% of its “value” according to the price at which it sold to Flipkart(Myntra)!

Seven years after it was founded, an imminent shutdown loomed over the Gurugram-headquartered company after a failed merger with Flipkart. It was left with inadequate funds, enough to barely last a month.

The e-commerce fashion giant Myntra has decided to change its logo after a woman activist filed a complaint with the state cyber police alleging that the logo was offensive towards women. The complaint was filed by a Mumbai-based activist Naaz Patel in association with Avesta Foundation NGO.

According to the Jabong website, quality matters. A few Jabong.com reviews by customers on Trustpilot praise the company, one even saying they were “impressed with their service and quality of products.” Jabong reviews on Mouthshut.com seem to be slightly favorable toward the company, rating the quality 3 out of 5.

What was offensive in Myntra logo?

The complainant, Naaz Patel of Avesta Foundation, said that the “obscene” logo shows a woman’s “legs spread out in a suggestive manner”. The reasoning she provided for wanting the logo to be changed was that she felt that it would “lead to further victimisation of women in our society”.
