Who was the son of a snake killed by Abhimanyu?

The legend states that Parikshit, the lone descendant of the House of Pandu, son of Abhimanyu and grand son of Arjuna of the Mahabharata fame, had died of snakebite. He had been cursed by a sage to die so, the curse having been consummated by the serpent-chieftain Takshaka.

But, these all princes were committed to their maternal kingdoms because, as almost all of Aryavarta Kings participated in the War, many of them were killed. So, the kingdoms in which the extra Pandava sons had been born in, had to be ruled by them. This is the reason only Parikshit was chosen.

Revenge on Pandavas After King Parikshit was cursed by a sage’s son to die by a snake bite for insulting his father, Takshaka came to fulfil the curse. Takshaka did the deed by approaching in disguise (1,50) and biting Parikshit, the grandson of Arjuna and thus slaying him, while he was meditating on Lord Vishnu.
