Which Pokemon type has the best coverage?

I hacked together a python script that went through every combination of 4 types and checked for the one that had the best super effective coverage. The results: Ice, Fighting, Ground, and Flying / Ghost / Dark.

What Moveset covers all types?

Yes, there are four moves that cover everything. In fact, you can have complete coverage with just two: Ghost and Fighting. If you think about it, Ghost covers all types at least normally effectively, except Normal and Dark (and Steel if you’re on Gen V or earlier).

Normal and Electric Types have the least weaknesses; Normal Types are weak to only the Fighting Types, whereas Electric Types are weak only to the Ground Types. And if you ask for the type with the most weaknesses, then it’s the Rock Type, which is weak to Water, Grass, Ground, Fighting and Steel; total 5 weaknesses.
