Yes, It is safe. More than 20-25\% students in every batch of north eastern NITs are from Southern India.

Everyone is treated equally here . There is no type of groupism among students here . When you will stay or live with the people there you will know that there is nothing among them against north Indians and I must say there are lot of events and fests organised every year in Nit Trichy which helps you to get to know them better .
