Which income is included in creamy layer?

Currently, annual family income above ₹8 lakh are considered the ‘creamy layer’ and excluded from reservation benefits given to OBCs. The income threshold is supposed to be raised every three years.

The economically weaker section (EWS) is the section of the society in India that belongs to the un-reserved category and has an annual family income of less than 8 lakh rupees. This category includes people that do not belong to the caste categories of ST/SC/OBC who already enjoy the benefits of reservation.

There are three types of income(1) Income from salary(2) Income from agriculture(3) Income from other sources. If your parents have income from others sources more than 8 lakhs then you will be in creamy layer otherwise non creamy layer. Income from agriculture has not to be clubbed with income with salary.
