Originally Answered: what are some best textbooks on quantum mechanics? Most widely used and mostly recommended are by Sakurai, Shankar, Zettili and of course Feynman volume 3.
Is Griffiths quantum good?
Griffiths is a great writer, with a sense of humor that shines through some pretty heinous maths, clearly explained. The discussion of the philosophical realm of quantum mechanics, with wierdness and paradoxes, is accessible and clear while being great food for thought and a stimulating starting point.
What should I learn before learning quantum mechanics?
In order to study elementary quantum mechanics you must ideally have an understanding of the following mathematical ideas: Complex numbers. Partial and Ordinary differential equations. Integral calculus I-III.
How is Griffiths for quantum mechanics?
Is Griffith book good?
It is very well written: very readable and not at all dry like most other physics books. Reading it feels like taking a class from a very good teacher, who makes physics both intuitive and enjoyable. Griffiths is one of the very few physics books that’s just fun to read, particularly for visual thinkers.
Is Zettili a good book?
It’s excellent, but is very abstract. It’s a great follow-up to Griffiths, but as a starter, you’d have to be really on the ball. Zettili seems to me to take a long time to get going and from what I’ve seen I’m not convinced by it.
