When can you activate creature abilities?
Unless a card explicitly states that it can only be activated on your turn (USUALLY denoted by “play this ability only as a sorcery”) the ability on a creature can be used any time the player wants once the creature no longer has summoning sickness for creatures that have the tap symbol in their cost.
Are abilities instants MTG?
602.5e Activated abilities that read “Activate only as an instant” mean the player must follow the timing rules for casting an instant spell, though the ability isn’t actually an instant. The player doesn’t actually need to have an instant card that they could cast.
Are triggered abilities activated?

If you activate an ability but then the permanent the ability came from leaves the battlefield, the ability will still resolve.
Can you cast creature abilities during opponent’s turn?
Yep. If they have an ability that would do so, there is nothing stopping them (aside from Summoning Sickness, targeting, the usual). Unless you are playing with Area of Effect.
Can you activate an ability in response to an instant?
In response, you can cast instant spells and activate abilities, including the “{T}: Regenerate target Sliver.” ability of any of your Slivers. Say you activate “A”‘s ability targeting “B”.
What is the difference between activate and trigger?
As verbs the difference between activate and trigger is that activate is to put into action, to put to work while trigger is to fire a weapon.
What happens when you counter a triggered ability?
701.5a To counter a spell or ability means to cancel it, removing it from the stack. It doesn’t resolve and none of its effects occur. A countered spell is put into its owner’s graveyard.
