What was the need of PM Cares fund?
PM CARES Fund is a public charitable trust. It has been set up keeping in mind the need for having a dedicated fund with the primary objective of dealing with any kind of emergency or distress situation, like posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and to provide relief to the affected.
Is Pmnrf under RTI?
The Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) is not a ‘public authority’ within the meaning of Section 2(h) of the Right to Information Act 2005, said the Public Information Officer of the Prime Minister’s Office(PMO). The PMO stated this while disposing of an RTI application filed by one Abhimanyu Shrivastav.
Is Pmnrf a government fund?
Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) was established entirely with public contributions and does not get any budgetary support. PMNRF accepts voluntary contributions from Individuals, Organizations, Trusts, Companies and Institutions etc.
What is difference between PM Care Fund and PMNRF?
PMNRF accepts only voluntary contributions by individuals and institutions. PM CARES Fund accepts voluntary contributions by individuals/organizations as well as contributions as part of CSR from Companies/Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
Is PMNRF audited?
The PMNRF is audited by an independent auditor outside the Government. At present, Sarc & Associates, Chartered Accountants are the auditors. Accounts upto the year 2019-20 have been audited.
Who controls Pmnrf?
Prime Minister is the Chairman of PMNRF and is assisted by Officers/ Staff on honorary basis. PMNRF accepts only voluntary donations by individuals and institutions.
Why Pmnrf is not audited by CAG?
Since it is a public charitable trust with voluntary donations and does not receive any government support, no CAG audit is required.
