Personally I felt the 2000s as a brand new decade although even the late 90s already felt like the new millennium with the mass popularity of cellphones, pop culture transitioned from Gen X to Millennial with teen pop icons like Britney Spears, Spice Girls, Destiny’s Child, NSYNC and Backstreet Boys taking over the spotlight from the grunge era.
