Participate. Ask questions. Seek to clarify topics. Read all assigned materials. Think critically about course content. Be a student the professor would be happy to recommend for a job. Be able to take research and apply it to methods of practice.

“You learn something new every day” is a phrase we have all heard before. As a student, you’re constantly learning with the goal of graduating. Graduation may mark the end of your formal education, but you will still be learning and reflecting upon your prior experiences.

Through elementary school, middle school, and high school, you have mostly grown up with the same group of people. Sure you’ll make new friends and new enemies, but the bottom line is that you know everyone by face if not by name. College is overwhelming in the sense that you know close to no one; everyone is a stranger.
