Careers in Library Technical Services can include the following areas:
- Acquisitions – purchasing materials like books, electronic resources, videos, games, etc.
- Collection Development & Management – the selection of materials acquired by the library based on type of the library, mission, and audience.
What is technical section of library?
Considered as the “behind the scene” section of the library, this section is where the mechanical and technical processing of books occur before they are included in the collection for circulation.
What is library circulation services?
Circulation is a library term that means checking out library materials to users. Circulation staff also prepare library bills for damaged, long overdue, or lost materials. Circulation staff often are responsible for shelving new and returned materials. Circulation units also provide a lost and found service.

What is technical resource?

Reference services are the services provided by the reference department in a library that helps the library patron to get access to the information that they needed. 1) Information services that involve either finding the required information on behalf of the users, or assisting users in finding information.
What are circulating books?
“Circulating books” are books that can be checked out. They are shelved in the main shelving area of the library, often called the “stacks”. Circulating books cover all subject areas and can range from broad overviews of a general topic to very detailed studies of a very limited, specific topic.
