Pay and Allowances After Graduation After graduation Midshipmen are promoted to the rank of O-1 (Ensign or Second Lieutenant). The monthly pay and allowances as an O-1 for the Annapolis area is $4,996 (without dependents).
The USNA expects you to maintain high standards in academics, military performance, and fitness. After graduation, you will be commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy or Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps. After commissioning, you will serve a minimum of five years on active duty.
