What RAM speed does Z390 support?
4,500 MHz
The motherboard is equipped with a robust 13-phase power delivery subsystem to house even the most demanding 9th-generation Coffee Lake Refresh processor and four DDR4 memory slots that accommodate memory modules up to 4,500 MHz. The MEG Z390 Ace’s memory circuit design makes it an ideal motherboard for memory testing.

Can Z390 run 3200MHz?
H370 will limit your ram speeds. You need a Z370/390 in order to run 3200mhz ram. B or H chipsets limit you to 2666 max.
Can I use 3200MHz RAM with i9-9900K?
Yes. You will need to use a Z370 or Z390 motherboard in order to run RAM at that speed, but 3200MHz CL16 is a reasonable compromise on price and performance.
Is RAM speed limited by motherboard?
Both motherboards and CPUs have RAM (memory aka DIMM) speed limits. Your actual speed limit will be the lower of the two. That being said, depending on what applications you use, you could be fine with 2133 MHz. If you’re a gamer, you generally will buy “performance” grade DIMM.

What does XMP RAM mean?
Extreme Memory Profile
Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) was originally created by Intel® and is now used by all memory manufacturers with high performance desktop memory. Unlike JEDEC, XMP speeds are higher performing, and are usually custom tweaked to the specific needs of the memory.
Can I use 3200MHz ram in an i7 9700K support?
Yes, but only if you use a Z370 or Z390 motherboard. The i7–9700K’s default maximum memory speed is 2666MHz, so to run memory at 3200MHz you need to get a motherboard with an “unlocked” chipset which allows you to overclock your CPU and memory.
What is the highest RAM speed for i7 9700K?
2666mhz is what Intel states the CPU can support. Running ram above this speed is technically overclocking and requires a z series motherboard.
What RAM sticks are compatible with my motherboard?
From the Windows Start menu, search for System Information on your computer and open the app. Under System Summary, you will find your Processor. Using this information, search for your specific processor on the manufacturer website to see what RAM is compatible with your processor.
How much does it cost to add more RAM to Z390?
With memory prices how they are right now, it costs a small fortune to build up to 128GB of memory on a Z390 motherboard. Samsung’s DDR4-2133 32GB stick, which is the most economical option at the moment, goes for $270.
Does MSI Z390 support 128GB RAM?
MSI Z390 Motherboards Now Support Up To 128GB of RAM. MSI is the first motherboard manufacturer to support 32GB DDR4 DIMMs on its Z390 motherboards. With the help of a small BIOS update, MSI Z390 motherboard owners can now use up to 128GB of memory in their systems.
Can I put Ram in a Z370 motherboard?
Took the ram out of that PC, put it in the z370, booted just fine. Tried backing off the cpu cooler a couple turns as well. Thinking this is an rma issue. But would like to see if maybe a different bios would help this work. Dont want to get a new board to have the same issue. (2-3 week period of waiting).
Does ASRock Z370 gaming K6 support 4400mhz?
Yes, I have ASRock Z370 Gaming K6 and 3600C15 G.Skill (2x8GB) can reach to 4400MHz on this mobo timing 19-19-19-39 1.45V dual channel without any issue. But can’t boot into windows at 4500MHz with two sticks (dual channel).
