What is the syllabus of IES exam for mechanical engineering?

IES (ESE) Syllabus 2021 for Mechanical Engineering (ME) Basic Concepts and Properties of Fluids, Manometry, Fluid Statics, Buoyancy, Equations of Motion, Bernoulli’s equation and applications, Viscous flow of incompressible fluids, Laminar and Turbulent flows, Flow through pipes and head losses in pipes.

Is GATE and IES same?

While GATE is conducted by any one of the seven IITs or IISc, IES/ESE is conducted by the UPSC. GATE is mainly held for admission to postgraduate courses in engineering/technology, including at premier institutes like IITs and NITs. IES/ESE is conducted for central government jobs in various ministries/departments.

Is the syllabus same for IES and gate?

The syllabus for both these exams is quite similar to each other. The IES syllabus covers the entire engineering syllabus.
