What is the difference between Swcc and SEALs?

The main difference between a SWCC pipeline compared to SEALs is they become combat swimmer qualified rather than the required combat dive qualified portion SEALs go through in BUD/S.

Why are there no SWCC officers?

There are no SWCC line officers. The only commissioned officers that SWCC has are Warrant officers. In the Navy one must be a Chief first before being picked up for Warrant so one’s time as an officer is a little limited. Command leadership at the Boat Teams is held by SEALS.

SEAL and SWCC candidates must endure a long training process, which for enlisted candidates begins at Naval Special Warfare Preparatory School (NSW Prep) in Great Lakes, Illinois.
