What is a wall kicker?

In the construction terminology that I Use, a Kicker is a 5-15cm step that is provided at the Column/ Shear wall Base during the casting of the slab/ foundation. It is provided to ensure that the coordinates of the column/ wall are maintained uniformly between the slabs and essentially throughout the structure.

The most outstanding disadvantage of the kicker is the possible formation of joints at the bottom of columns or walls. That is why it is sometimes eliminated, and acceptable techniques are used to install column and wall shuttering. But the risk of errors is increased if kickers are not used.
