What is a propeller clock?
My “Propeller Clock” is a mechanically scanned LED clock with seven light emitting diodes that spin, giving the illusion of numbers floating in the air. This clock utilizes only a few relatively inexpensive electronic components and a recycled motor from a VCR or floppy drive.
What is a propeller display?
Propeller display is a special type of circular display that project an image as if the images are floating in the air. In the present work virtual displays are used in order to reduce the number of LEDs. The propeller is subjected to rotate above 1000rpm to obtain virtual display.
How do you make a propeller screen?
Construction of Propeller Display: You can get a wooden plank or a cardboard box. Then make a hole in the middle of DVD Drive (base) and insert the DC motor axis in it. Make sure the hole is tight enough to hold the motor and motor can rotate freely. I used Feviquick to put the axis in place.
How do you make a propeller clock?
LED Propeller Clock
- Step 1: Gathering Materials.
- Step 2: Soldering the Nano.
- Step 3: Setting Up the Nano.
- Step 4: Test the Nano.
- Step 5: Solder the LED’s.
- Step 6: Soldering 220ohm Resistors.
- Step 7: Connect LED’s to Ground.
- Step 8: Connect LED’s to Proper Digital Pins.
How do you make a view point of view?
Constructing the POV Display
- Solder LEDs and Resistors. Take 8 LEDs and place them in a row. Solder them to the perf board.
- Connecting LEDs to Arduino. The other end of the resistor must be connected to Arduino.
- Terminals for Battery. I have taken a pair of two-pin female headers and soldered it near the Arduino Nano.
What is the meaning of LED display?
A LED display is a flat panel display that uses an array of light-emitting diodes as pixels for a video display. LED displays are capable of providing general illumination in addition to visual display, as when used for stage lighting or other decorative (as opposed to informational) purposes.
What is Arduino Nano r3?
The Arduino Nano is a small, complete, and breadboard-friendly board based on the ATmega328 (Arduino Nano 3. It has more or less the same functionality of the Arduino Duemilanove, but in a different package. It lacks only a DC power jack, and works with a Mini-B USB cable instead of a standard one.
What is difference between Arduino and Raspberry Pi?
Arduino is based on the ATmega family and has a relatively simple design and software structure. Raspberry Pi, basically is a single-board computer. Both of them have a CPU which executes the instructions, timers, memory and I/O pins….Difference between Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

What are two applications of LEDs?
Applications and Uses of LEDs can be seen in:
- TV Backlighting.
- Smartphone Backlighting.
- LED displays.
- Automotive Lighting.
- Dimming of lights.
