What is a conscious person?

Conscious is an adjective that simply means alert and awake. Conscious is a Latin word whose original meaning was “knowing” or “aware.” So a conscious person has an awareness of her environment and her own existence and thoughts.

Your conscious is your awareness of yourself and the world around you. In the most general terms, it means being awake and aware. Some experts suggest that you are considered conscious of something if you are able to put it into words.

Who came up with conscious?

The origin of the modern concept of consciousness is often attributed to Locke’s Essay Concerning Human Understanding, published in 1690. Locke defined consciousness as “the perception of what passes in a man’s own mind”.

How is conscience formed?

A conscience which is both well formed (shaped by education and experience) and well informed (aware of facts, evidence and so on) enables us to know ourselves and our world and act accordingly. Seeing conscience in this way is important because it teaches us ethics is not innate.
