What happens when you work with the wrong therapist?

And because highly sensitive people like you and me process things deeply, working with the wrong therapist can leave us more emotionally wounded than when we first walked into their office. While some people can easily move on from a bad therapy experience, HSPs may ruminate and blame themselves over why things didn’t work out.

Is it okay to give my Therapist advice?

Although giving advice is not what therapy is all about, examining your choices and exploring your feelings seems like an important and missing piece of the work that you are doing. Learn to relax your body and mind. Overthinking can also be helped by increasing activities that relax your mind and body, such as meditation, exercise, listening to soothing music, massage, using aromatherapy, and so forth. Let go of perfection.

Can you trust your therapist if they know it all?

Do you have to pay your therapist if you don’t want to see?

The bottom line: you’re not responsible for how your therapists feels. Most therapists know that they’re not going to be a great fit for every client that walks into their office. You aren’t obligated to keep paying a professional that you don’t want to see anymore.

Are there any bad psychotherapists?

When I think of the bad psychotherapists I have encountered, I find that most of them can be loosely grouped into three categories: These are generally male therapists, but not always. This is a greater risk when you are doing some of the more intimate types of bodywork that involve the therapist touching the client.
