What happens when an NDIS participant turns 65?
If you started receiving NDIS supports before you turned 65, you can continue to receive services even after you’ve aged past 65. If you choose to continue receiving supports through the NDIS, nothing changes. You don’t have to worry about choosing a different provider, or a reduction in funding.
At what age does the NDIS stop?
65 years of age
A person ceases to be a participant in the NDIS when: the person dies (section 29(1)(a)); the person enters a residential care service on a permanent basis and this first occurs after the person turns 65 years of age (section 29(1)(b));
Can aged pensioners get NDIS?
Can you access the NDIS if you are 65 years old, or older? No, if you are 65 years or older you will not be able to access the NDIS.
How does old age prevent disability?
Disabling chronic illness, depressive mood, functional decline and sedentary lifestyles are among the most important prevention targets. Much evidence shows that physical activity may ameliorate diseases, reduce depressive symptoms and prevent or delay functional limitations and disabilities in the elderly.
What happens when my NDIS plan expires?

What is disability support pension?
Financial help if you have a permanent physical, intellectual or psychiatric condition that stops you from working. Not everyone with disability or a medical condition can get DSP. If you can’t get DSP, you may be able to get other payments.
What is the difference between NDIS and aged care?
NDIS funding allocations are largely uncapped, matched to assessed need and provided at a level that can deliver reasonable and necessary support. “However, aged care funding allocations are capped within set funding bands as determined through assessment of need.”
What disabilities does NDIS cover?
Disability: The NDIS provides support to eligible people with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disability. Early intervention supports can also be provided for eligible people with disability or children with developmental delay.
Can old age be a disability?
Although people who are aging often don’t think of themselves as having a disability, according to the ADA, having a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity” means a person has a disability.
