What happens to all the colors of the spectrum when we see white?

A white object reflects all colors of white light equally. If an object absorbs all colors but one, we see the color it does not absorb. The yellow strip in the following figure absorbs red, orange, green, blue, indigo and violet light. It reflects yellow light and we see it as yellow.

What color wavelengths are added together to make white light?

All other colors of the visible light spectrum can be produced by properly adding different combinations of these three colors. Moreover, adding equal amounts of red, green, and blue light produces white light and, therefore, these colors are also often described as the primary additive colors.

And as white light contains all the colours it’s Refraction through prism let’s all the colours of spectrum refract to a different angle and thus we can see them separately then. It’s because of wavelength that different colours refract differently. But white light would come as it is if refracted through a glass slab because of

What is the difference between white light and black light?

The mixture of all the colours of the visible colour spectrum forms white light whereas black is due to the absence of light. The colours of the visible colour spectrum from higher energy to lower energy are listed below.

How is white light split up into different colours?

White light can be split up into a spectrum of these colours using a prism, a triangular block of glass or Perspex. Light is refracted when it enters the prism, and each colour is refracted by a different amount.
