If your teen threatens to run away, the first thing you need to do is remain calm. Then, attempt to calm down your daughter. Ask her to sit in the living room or kitchen with you for a moment and just cool down. Things may be heated, and she may be too upset to truly know what she wants right now.

At first , I’d runaway and return home when it was getting dark. All it took is one time to make it different and not possible to come back home. I ran away from home when I was 12 years old. I had few runaway episodes through my childhood and adolescence starting when I was just 4 years old.

We lived in a small village where everyone kind knows everyone in the surrounding area. When my family and I moved to Kyiv , running away obviously brought on more danger and risk. At first , I’d runaway and return home when it was getting dark. All it took is one time to make it different and not possible to come back home.
