What happens to people who fail Upsc?

The candidates who have cleared the civil services Main exam, but failed to clear the interview may still get jobs with government agencies and ministries if the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recommendations are accepted by the government.

Cracking the three-stage CSE isn’t easy and many spend years preparing to clear it. However, there are some candidates who, despite failing in school/college or dropping out, overcame difficulties to become IAS and IPS officers.

Did I clear the UPSC Mains in 2017?

I didn’t clear the UPSC (Civil Services) Mains exams in 2017. After a few more attempts which finally ended in July 2019, I felt devastated. Most aspirants do not have a Plan B and believe in ‘Ram Bharose’. We mistakingly believe that during one of the six attempts, we will clear the exams.

UPSC CSE is just an exam. Life is much bigger than this. Life is all about possibilities. Clearing UPSC is a goal for many of us. But not able to clear it is not d end of the world. There are so many people who have succeeded in various fields even after not able to clear this exam.

Is it bad to take the CSE without a backup?

If you are a Computer engineer, it is very easy to get employed as compared to others even if you have gap years. Lastly, having a backup is not bad and I strongly believe this exam must not be taken without a backup plan in the head. When I wrote my first attempt, I was employed and I still am.
