What happens if I run out of RAM?

The higher your RAM, the more memory capacity your computer has and the more efficiently it operates. The easy answer to that question: Your computer will start to work less efficiently. That’s because when your computer runs out of memory it will start to use the hard drive space for “virtual memory” to compensate.

Can not enough RAM cause crashes?

Having more ram will not hurt your performance. if anything, it will increase performance as it wont have to access the slow HDD/SSD as often. although having a very large page filing will hurt performance.

If your computer is still coming up with Not Enough Memory Error, run SFC Scan Command to check the Hard Disk on your computer for errors. 1. Right-click on Start button and click on Command Prompt (Admin). 2. On Command prompt window, type sfc /scannow and press the Enter key on the keyboard of your computer.
