What happened to the Sindar elves?

Many Sindar lived in Mithrim and the Falas, and some still wandered in the forests. The Sindar were somewhat scorned but respected by the Ñoldorin exiles who returned to Middle-earth to found great realms and wage war against the Dark Lord Morgoth.

Who were the Sindar in LotR?

The Sindar (meaning ‘Grey People’ – singular Sinda) were Elves of Telerin descent, known also as the Grey Elves. They were a sub-group of the Teleri who chose to stay in Beleriand and not complete the Great Journey to Aman .

Where did the Sindar Elves live?

Many Sindar lived in Mithrim and the Falas, and some still wandered in the forests. The Sindar were somewhat scorned but respected by the Ñoldorin exiles who returned to Middle-earth to found great realms and wage war against the Dark Lord Morgoth, and many Sindarin Elves considered them usurpers and to blame for Morgoth’s return.

Why are the Noldor called the greatest elves?

The Noldor were accounted the greatest of the Elves and all the peoples in Middle-earth in lore, warfare and crafts. In Valinor “great became their knowledge and their skill; yet even greater was their thirst for more knowledge, and in many things they soon surpassed their teachers.

How did the Noldor return to Middle-earth?

The majority of the Noldor returned to Middle-earth following the murder of their first leader Finwë by the Dark Lord Morgoth, on the instigation of Finwë’s eldest son Fëanor. They were the second clan of the Elves in both order and size, the other clans being the Vanyar and the Teleri.
