What happened to Maedhros?
After the War of Wrath, he and his last surviving brother, Maglor, stole the two remaining Silmarils taken by the Valar from Morgoth. But because of the evil deeds committed by the brothers to regain the jewels, they burned the hands of Maglor and Maedhros.
Is Maglor dead?
Almost certainly. He is, after all, one of the Eldar and thus immortal. Whether he’s in Middle-earth is less clear. He may have eventually killed himself in despair, or been offered the pardon of the Valar and a trip back home to Aman.
Who betrayed Maedhros?
But the Elves knew that Morgoth would not honor his word and sent no reply. In response, Morgoth bolted Maedhros by the wrist of his right hand to the face of a precipice of Thangorodrim. Shortly thereafter the host of Fingolfin, betrayed by Fëanor and abandoned in Aman, came at last to Middle-earth.
What did maglor do?
Maglor was the second of the Sons of Fëanor. He had more of his mother Nerdanel’s gentle spirit than any of his brothers. Maglor was known for his poetry and singing, but in Tirion he swore the Oath of Fëanor and shared in the woes it bred.

In the second draft, dubbed as QI, both brothers steal the Silmarils and it is Maedhros (not Maglor) who’s persuaded to submit. Maedhros is captured by Eönwë and slays himself. Maglor throws his Silmaril into a fiery pit and wanders singing in sorrow by the Sea.
How did Maglor get his Silmaril back?
As with the other Sons of Fëanor, Maglor was bound by an oath to recover his father’s Silmarils, which had been stolen by the Dark Lord Morgoth.
Why did Maglor and his people flee to Himring?
Maglor and his people fled to Himring to join Maedhros before the Dagor Bragollach took place. After the Dagor Bragollach, Bór’s people came into Beleriand. He and his sons Borlach, Borlad and Borthand swore allegiance to Maedhros and Maglor.
What happened to Maglor’s brothers in The Lord of the Rings?
In the Sack of Doriath, Maglor’s younger brothers Celegorm, Curufin and Caranthir were killed, and the Silmaril was not recovered. Afterwards, Maglor and his surviving brothers dwelt on Amon Ereb in East Beleriand.
