What does open status mean on Zerodha?

If the order gets through the RMS & then also the OMS but doesn’t get sent to the exchange servers, the order status will be open pending, [When it shows open pending, it means that exchange hasn’t sent us the confirmation for the orders, as they haven’t received it yet.]

What happens to pending orders in Zerodha after market closed?

Your pending orders will be cancelled. If any active mis order, it will be cleared at market price at 3:20 automatically. If you are asking about open orders, they will get automatically cancelled after EOD.

An open order is an un-filled, or working order that is to be executed when an, as yet, unmet requirement has been met before it is cancelled by the customer or expires.
