When we decide to become a follower of Christ, what we are actually saying to God is “Here’s my life Lord, I am ready to do your will.” Your life now belongs to God and therefore your actions must mirror Christ’s. As Jesus would do, you should do.

We grow in sanctification, learn God’s word in Scripture, live according to God’s word, love others, and seek to bring new brothers and sisters into God’s family through the love of Jesus.

It means to lay our “ego strength” aside. Taking up our cross means, instead, picking up those weaknesses that we so often try to run away from in life. Taking up our cross means carrying around those places where we are vulnerable, places where we are maybe even exposed to embarrassment and shame.
