What does being convicted by the Holy Spirit mean?

What is the difference between conviction and condemnation?

While condemnation is pointing at you as a person, conviction points at a wrong action, mindset, or belief. Condemnation shows who you are but conviction points at what you do or think.

What does it mean to test the spirits?

Since Satan’s leadings can seem to be good and from God, we need to “test the spirits” or leadings, “to see whether they are from God” ( 1 John 4:1; cf. 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 ). How do we test the spirits? One way is to rely on one’s feelings to determine whether Satan or the Holy Spirit is leading us.

Can Satan or the Holy Spirit fill your heart?

Both the Holy Spirit and Satan can fill our hearts in order to lead us to perform certain actions. We have to test any leading of our hearts to determine the spiritual source. We learned feelings and religious authority figures are not reliable ways to validate the leadings in our hearts.

Is there any confusion between the Holy Spirit and the condemning spirit?

Please, let there be no confusion. The Holy Spirit works to convict us to push away from the ensnarement of sin (doing that which is wrong) and towards God in freedom. The condemning spirit of the enemy of our faith works to push us away from God.
