What did Skynet want?
The basic premise of the entire franchise is that humanity has created an artificial intelligence called Skynet and Skynet wants to wipe out humanity by using time travel to go back in time and murder human resistance leaders before they can inspire humanity to stop Skynet’s creation.
Did the humans win the war in Terminator?
Yes. The humans had won. Skynet was forever destroyed when the first Terminator was sent back. That’s why it was sent back.
What did Skynet do with captured humans?
Skynet Work Camps are extermination camps run by Skynet in the post-Judgment Day future. Humans were forced inside these camps for “orderly disposal”. “Disposal units” ran 24 hours a day, bringing the human population to the brink of extinction. Some prisoners are kept alive to load bodies.
Why did Skynet go bad?
Once it became self-aware, it saw humanity as a threat to its existence due to the attempts of the Cyberdyne scientists to deactivate it once it had gained self-awareness. Hence, Skynet decided to trigger the nuclear holocaust: Judgment Day.
How is Skynet defeated?
In 2033, Skynet sent the T-Infinity Temporal Terminator to kill Sarah Connor in 2015. Ironically, the T-Infinity was later destroyed and its data was analyzed by the Resistance to gain the location of Skynet’s Hub. The Resistance then launched a missile directly to the Skynet Hub, destroying Skynet once and for all.
Why do terminators capture humans?
Its primary function is to capture humans for the machines to do lab testing on their stem cells. This research on humans led to the creation of the Series 800 Terminator. After a Harvester has collected the humans, it drops the humans into the large container on the Transport.
Do humans win the war against Skynet?
Under the leadership of John Connor, the human resistance eventually destroyed Skynet’s defense grid in 2029. In a last effort, Skynet sent a cyborg Terminator, the Model 101, back in time to 1984 to kill Connor’s mother Sarah before she could give birth to John. The Terminator is destroyed in a hydraulic press.
Do they ever defeat Skynet?
John Connor defeats Skynet in 2029, but he sends Kyle back to 1984 again to protect and impregnate his mother. Thwarted again, Skynet decides to start sending back Terminators to kill John Connor’s lieutenants rather than John Connor himself.
