What degree of scoliosis is concerning?

In general, a curve is considered significant if it is greater than 25 to 30 degrees. Curves exceeding 45 to 50 degrees are considered severe and often require more aggressive treatment.

Although 10 degrees is the cut-off point for scoliosis and 20 degrees is when bracing is recommended, it is important to emphasize that these are arbitrary numbers. An individual with a very small curve CAN have pain that is directly attributable to scoliosis.
